This application offers a comprehensive platform for creating custom maps with annotations and lines, facilitating sharing via email or Twitter. It functions as a true GIS system, integrating map visualization with a database component.

Items can be added by dragging symbols from the top sliding bar—if the bar is not visible, clicking the icon at the top right will display it. The symbol is initially placed without associated data.

To modify the title or subtitle of an annotation, select the desired annotation on the map, then click on the editing window that appears to make adjustments.

Enabling map editing mode requires clicking the icon at the top right. Once active, annotations can be selected and repositioned through dragging. To delete an annotation, drag it over the trash can icon located at the bottom right—this icon only appears in edit mode. To finalize modifications or exit edit mode, click the edit icon again.

Annotations can also be removed via two methods: using the "View and Edit Data" feature to delete, or by dragging the annotation directly onto the trash can.

Drawing lines is initiated by selecting the "Draw" icon in the top right (below the edit icon) and then sketching lines directly on the map.

To modify line data, collapse the "View and Edit Data" section as needed. Editing a line requires entering edit mode by clicking on the pencil icon at the top right. Vertices are highlighted with red squares; if vertices are sufficiently spaced, an intermediate vertex may be displayed for inserting new points. Exiting edit mode is accomplished by clicking the pencil icon again.

Lines can be deleted by removing all vertices—dragging them onto the trash can—or by deleting entire lines through the "View and Edit Data" function using the delete option.

Sharing capabilities include exporting a view of the current map via Twitter or email—just click on the corresponding icon at the bottom left. When sharing via email, a .kmz file of the map is automatically attached.

The application supports saving maps as MyGIS.kmz files, which can be opened in other applications such as Dropbox for storage and sharing. Additionally, opening a .kmz file with a kmzMyGIS extension allows you to load its contents into MyGIS, replacing the existing map display with the saved data.
